HOURS: Monday – Friday, 9:30 – 5:30

SUMMARY: Top-ranked AM multinational law firm is seeking an Analyst to support the New York Litigation Teamwithin the Marketing & Business Development Department. The Business Development group operates alongside more than 100 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to business development, marketing and communications. The right candidate will liaise closely with litigators firmwide and the New York Business Development team to facilitate various projects and initiatives to drive the development of new business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Consult with the New York partnership on the development and execution of meaningful strategic business development and marketing initiatives for the region
• Provide research, coordination and other logistical assistance in connection with the origination and execution of new pitches and related client development meetings and activities
• Maintain and manage records, pitches, and fee proposals.
• Create manuals and resource materials for the experience database, outlining best practices for researching and recording transactions as well as helping to develop definitions and taxonomies
• Conduct competitive intelligence and benchmarking research within an industry or among peer firms
• Assist with collecting NY-specific litigation case experience to record in case tracking database
• Refine and curate core materials related to specific industries, practice descriptions and representative experience
• Monitor alerts and news flow to support proactive team initiatives
• Work alongside the Events team to put together client events
• Assist the Media / PR Team with recognitions and profile-raising initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS:
• 2+ years of BD, marketing or paralegal experience in a law firm
• Bachelor’s Degree Required
• Deep knowledge of litigation 
• Exceptional communication and listening skills, including an innate ability to communicate with stakeholders
• Proven ability to organize and manage a diverse range of projects, prioritizing multiple tasks with competing deadlines (at times in high-pressure situations)
• Very strong project management abilities to lead and control large, complex pitches, proposals and RFPs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
• Proficiency with various research databases including, but not limited to Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, Westlaw MonitorSuite, Lex Machina

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Diversity and Inclusion manager will serve as the most senior member of the D&I Team and will implement initiatives for over 1,500 attorneys globally
  • Serve as an in-house expert on diversity best practices, advising D&I leadership, firm managers and internal groups on best practices, as well as adapting them within firm culture
  • Update Executive team on new polices to be executed firm-wide
  • Recommend policies to senior staff with regards to inclusion, efficiency, increasing morale, and enhancing client satisfaction
  • Serve in client-facing role, involving collaboration with client diversity initiatives and client D&I teams
  • Serve as expert of industry trends, in addition to staying apprised of firm policies and practices for staff
  • Foster firm relationships with external D&I organizations and seek out attorney development opportunities
  • Develop metrics in order to quantify the success of diversity initiatives
  • Develop and implement diversity and inclusion training programs across the firm (including CLE eligible trainings)
  • Lead associate talent retention and development, including mentorship and professional development
  • Work with marketing team to communicate firm efforts and initiatives to clients, to stakeholders in the legal industry, and to the media 
  • Prepare budget and monitor budget throughout fiscal year
  • Effectively manage D&I team by enumerating expectations, serving as a mentor, monitoring performance and handling any sub-optimal performance by employees
  • Participate in interview and onboarding processes for D&I Team
  • Maintain relationships with clients and client D&I teams

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • MBA or equivalent required, JD preferred
  • 7+ years of diversity and management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as sound judgment
  • Managerial skills such as overseeing the work of others, leading a team, and problem-solving
  • Confidentiality and ability to work on sensitive matters with the utmost discretion and professionalism
  • Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, as well as the flexibility to work varying hours as needed as priorities change
  • Ability to work effectively on a team or independently
  • Desire to advance Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity in the workplace
